Attract more members to your facility by staying on the leading edge of health and fitness trends with Aktiv Recovery and Hyperice.
Aktiv Solutions, a leader in amplifying training spaces for health clubs, hotels, multi-family fitness centers and home gyms, FitnessDesignGroup the leader in the dynamic design and supply of commercial training spaces, and Hyperice, the industry leader in recovery technology and pioneer of percussion, vibration, dynamic air compression and thermal technology, have partnered to bring RECOVERY x Hyperice Bays to Claremont Club & Spa in Berkeley, California.
Over the years, the iconic Claremont Club & Spa has built a cherished reputation for its luxury accommodations, beautiful views of the San Francisco Bay, world class gym and pampering spa services. The property has continued to build upon its magnificent 100-plus year history with nearly $50 million in renovations since its rebranding as a Fairmont by Accor Hotels.
The latest addition comes as an extension of its fitness and spa offering in the form of a new Aktiv Recovery Lounge designed by FitnessDesignGroup and powered by Hyperice performance technology. “The importance of wellness within hospitality continues to accelerate as guests increasingly realize that ‘health is wealth’ and demand more authentic and holistic experiences,” said Emlyn Brown, the global vice president of well-being for Accor Hotels. “The prestigious Claremont Resort & Spa is a blueprint for exercise experience across hospitality globally and now includes a new battery of modalities in rejuvenation and recovery.”
The modernization of the new recovery space was led by the functional design team at FitnessDesignGroup and supplied by Aktiv Solutions via their collaboration with Hyperice. The space features Gym Rax personal recovery bays, each providing digital guidance and a wide array of recovery-based equipment designed to complement pre and post training sessions. The new space was developed to enhance the guest experience and now creates a bridge between the intensity of gym training sessions and the Claremont’s most coveted spa services.
The Fairmont’s continuing improvements have been substantial. The new lounge design was in keeping with the property’s mandate of bright, airy interior space, much with panoramic picture windows across the hotel’s sprawling architectural footprint.
“Recovery has become such an important integration regarding the balance of our guests and members well-being experience,” said Kevin Macdonald, the director of Club & Spa. ”This new space serves to both invite and guide one toward the benefits of active recovery. The feedback has been outstanding. We appreciate our ongoing partnerships with Aktiv and Hyperice. Together they have truly created a fantastic system to smartly program our offering in recovery.”
