The YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee is pleased to announce Dave Morgan has been selected to serve as its next president and CEO, effective July 1, 2025, following the retirement of longtime leader Carrie Wall.
Morgan brings with him four decades of YMCA leadership experience, including over 20 years as a CEO. He currently serves as resident and CEO of the YMCA of Greater Kalamazoo.
Morgan’s introduction to the YMCA came at age 13 in Madison, Wisconsin, when a staff member offered him a membership in exchange for weekly volunteer service. That opportunity sparked his lifelong commitment to the YMCA.
Since then, Morgan has held leadership roles as the CEO of the Stevens Point Area YMCA and executive director at the YMCA of Dane County, guiding associations through critical periods of growth, stabilization and community expansion. He’s known for building strong teams, deepening community partnerships and expanding access to life-changing programs — especially for those who need the Y most.
The appointment follows an extensive nationwide search led by the Board of Directors, who reviewed hundreds of applicants from within the Y movement and other mission-driven sectors. “Dave’s operational discipline, transparent communication style and inclusive leadership approach will be an excellent fit for our YMCA,” said Jeff Lueken, the chief volunteer officer of the YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee, in a press release.
Under Morgan’s leadership, the YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee will continue to advance its bold strategic vision: to be a thriving, equitable, and high-impact organization — serving as a catalyst for measurable improvements in youth development, community health, and social responsibility.
“Our Y is uniquely positioned to convene partners and create meaningful change,” said Lueken. “Dave’s experience and leadership will help us realize our mission in even greater ways across the Milwaukee area.”
