When the YMCA of Rock River Valley needed a new community-focused donor management software to deliver a better giving experience, the Y found exactly what it was looking for in Bloomerang.

“Bloomerang helps us work effectively so our time can be spent sharing the impact donors make,” said Michelle Gorham, CFRE, the chief advancement officer of the YMCA of Rock River Valley. “Further, we can spend more time engaging with members, donors and potential donors so more people learn about the value of the Y in our community.”

Below, Gorham details the Y’s partnership with Bloomerang, benefits to members, surprises from the collaboration and more.

How long have you been a customer of Bloomerang?

We have been a customer of Bloomerang since December 2019.

Why did you decide to partner with Bloomerang? What problem were you looking to solve; or what solution were you looking to incorporate?

Bloomerang improved our ability to report on donations accurately and to communicate with our donors. Its ease of use and affordability made the platform a great option for our YMCA.

What are the benefits to your business as a result of this partnership?

Whenever daily work can be done more efficiently and more accurately, that’s a benefit to our Y. Accuracy is very important in a fundraising shop, and we need to ensure we live up to the level of trust donors place in us and our organization.

Have you been pleasantly surprised by this collaboration in any way?

Their staff is amazing. They’re responsive, helpful and are consistently looking for innovative ways to provide value to their customers. On top of that, they’re friendly humans and that makes any day at work better.

What else can you tell other rec center professionals about the benefits of working with Bloomerang?

I encourage my colleagues in philanthropy to consider their needs and discuss those with Bloomerang to determine if it’s a fit. I’ve been very happy with our decision and appreciate the consistent product development, ease of use and affordability. Others might find the same benefits.
