When Grants Pass Family YMCA noticed their old chlorine system wasn’t delivering consistent results and required constant attention, they saw an opportunity to modernize operations. This decision led them to TMI Sustainable Aquatics (TMI).

“We wanted a better way to manage our pool’s water quality and reduce the amount of chemicals we were using,” said Brad Converse, the CEO of Grants Pass Family YMCA. “TMI offered a sustainable solution that matched our mission to promote healthy living and environmental responsibility.”

Since 2019, TMI has helped Grants Pass Family YMCA deliver a safer, cleaner experience for their members by creating the healthiest water possible while reducing chemical use.

Below, Converse shares why Grants Pass Family YMCA decided to partner with TMI, how both the business and members have benefitted, and more.

What are the benefits to your business as a result of this partnership?

Working with TMI has made a big difference in how we operate. The automated systems save staff time, lower chemical costs and help us avoid unexpected closures. The water quality stays consistent, which keeps programs running smoothly and our members satisfied. It also feels good knowing we’re using fewer resources while maintaining a high standard of care.

What are the benefits to your members as a result of this partnership?

Members immediately noticed the improvement. The water is clearer, softer and has a much cleaner feel. Families appreciate the better air quality around the pool, and swimmers enjoy a more comfortable experience overall. With fewer interruptions and more consistent conditions, members know their time in the pool will always be enjoyable.

Have you been pleasantly surprised by working with TMI in any way?

Absolutely. The customer support has been outstanding. The team is proactive, easy to reach and truly cares about our success. They do more than install a system — they stay involved and make sure everything continues to perform well.

What else can you tell other recreation professionals about the benefits of working with TMI?

TMI combines excellent technology with excellent service. They have helped us improve efficiency, reduce costs and create a better experience for everyone who uses our pool. For any recreation center looking to run a cleaner, more sustainable and more reliable aquatics program, TMI is a partner you can count on.
