In this facility tour, you’ll see the entirety of the Hickory Foundation YMCA branch of the Catawba Valley YMCA.

This YMCA offers something for everyone — from infants to seniors. Spanning over 70 years of service, the facility features state-of-the-art spaces including a welcoming main lobby, childcare programs, indoor and outdoor pools, a gymnasium, wellness center, and expansive outdoor sports facilities. With a focus on holistic well-being, the YMCA provides integrated health services, fitness opportunities, youth development programs, and spaces for learning, connection and personal growth.

Facility Highlights

Main Lobby

    • Welcoming entrance with self check-in kiosks
    • Open layout for easy navigation
    • Central stairway connecting different facility areas

    Childcare Areas

    • Child Watch program for children ages six weeks to 5 years.
    • Kids Adventure Space for ages 6-12.
    • Focuses on safe, engaging and fun activities for children.

    Aquatics Area

      • Indoor and outdoor pools which feature year-round swimming programs.
      • The YMCA offers group and private lessons, lap swim, family swim and special needs aquatics in these spaces.

      Gymnasium

        • Hosts youth basketball leagues and open gym time year-round.
        • Indoor walking track around the perimeter.
        • Currently undergoing upgrades to offer high-quality facilities.

        Wellness Center

          • Large space with windows overlooking outdoor areas.
          • Fitness equipment and personal training.
          • Partnership with UNC Health Caldwell for integrated health services.

          Outdoor Campus

            • The outdoor campus includes a number of offerings for the community such as sports fields, a climbing tower, multiple tennis courts, and spaces for team practice and recreational play.

            Child Development Center

              • For ages up to 5.
              • Licensed, nurturing learning environment.
              • Curriculum focused on early childhood development.

              Teen Center

                • 10,000-square-foot space dedicated to teens.
                • After-school programs and leadership development.
                • Transforms into a worship space on Sundays.

                Overall, this tour emphasizes the commitment the YMCA of Catawba Valley has to community, wellness, learning and connection across all age groups.
