YMCA Southcoast proudly announces the appointment of Lucria Ortiz as the new president and CEO, effective June 2, 2025. Following an extensive national search, supported by YMCA of the USA, Ortiz was chosen by YMCA Southcoast’s Board of Directors and search committee to succeed interim CEO Debbie Fringuelli, who led the organization in tandem with continuing her role as senior executive director of the Gleason Family YMCA in Wareham, Massachusetts.
“In our search for a new president and CEO, we conducted a nationwide search from which Ortiz emerged as the standout choice,” said Arthur DeAscentis, the board chair, in a press release. “Her experience strongly supports our goals around philanthropy, creating safe supportive spaces for youth and teens, broadening the reach of our food insecurity efforts within the Full Plate Project, and providing access to healthy living resources for all community members.”
David Tatelbaum, the search committee chair, said her energy and visionary approach align seamlessly with the goals at YMCA Southcoast. “With Ortiz’s proven multi-sector experience, we’re confident YMCA Southcoast will thrive under her leadership for years to come,” said Tatelbaum.
