The Decatur Family YMCA announced the selection of Allison Buzick as its next CEO. Since May, the CEO Search Committee has worked in partnership with Y-USA and the Illinois State Alliance of YMCAs to conduct a nationwide search following Dominic Santomassimo’s departure.

“We’re excited to welcome Allison to Decatur and look forward to the experience, leadership, and vision she will bring to our organization,” said Scott Rosenbery, the board chair, in a press release. “We look forward to building on the Decatur Family YMCA’s strong foundation and continuing to make a positive impact on our members and the greater Decatur community.”

The search yielded 27 applications, and after a thorough interview and evaluation process, the board of directors selected Buzick for the position. She is tentatively scheduled to begin her new role on November 18, 2026.

“I’m beyond grateful for my time with my Southwest Florida YMCA family,” said Buzick in a statement on LinkedIn. “The relationships I’ve built, the challenges we’ve overcome, the memories we’ve made, and the opportunities I’ve had to grow both personally and professionally mean more to me than I can ever put into words. When I look back at where I started and how much I’ve learned along the way, it’s truly incredible. I will forever be thankful for the people who have been part of that journey.”

Further Info

Originally from Central Illinois, Buzick brings more than 11 years of YMCA leadership experience, with expertise in branch operations, financial management, membership development, youth development, staff leadership, fundraising, community partnerships and marketing. She formerly served as the interim executive director of the Punta Gorda YMCA while continuing her association-wide responsibilities as director of marketing for the YMCA of Southwest Florida.

Following her arrival, the Decatur Family YMCA plans to host a meet-and-greet, providing members and community members an opportunity to meet Allison and welcome her to the community. Additional details will be announced at a later date.

The board of directors also extends its sincere appreciation to Matt Noonan and Angela Foulke, who have served as co-interim CEOs during the transition. Their professionalism, dedication, and leadership have provided stability and continuity for the organization, and the YMCA is grateful for their commitment to serving the Decatur Family YMCA.
