YMCA of Greater Birmingham has announced Chad Zaucha as its new president and CEO, following a national search in collaboration with Y-USA. Zaucha will start his new position on June 2. He replaces Dan Pile, who has led the organization since 2017 and has had a 45-year career with the YMCA.
Zaucha, who currently serves as president and CEO of the YMCA of Muncie in Indiana, brings over 20 years of leadership experience within the YMCA organization. He began his career with the YMCA of Clay County in Brazil, Indiana, and has since managed various aspects of YMCA operations, including membership, wellness, aquatics, youth and teen programming, and residential camps.
“Our committee was focused on finding a visionary leader with a bias for action who could advance the outstanding work, collaborations and foundation already established by Dan, and we wholeheartedly believe Chad is that person,” said Chip Watts, board chair of the YMCA of Greater Birmingham, in a statement. “The Board of Directors thanks Dan Pile for his service to our YMCA and the legacy he leaves here.”
