One of the most important aspects of a rec center is the quality of flooring for members and visitors. The YMCA of Greater Kansas City knows this importance and has been using the flooring solutions from Kiefer USA for over a decade.

Garry Linn, the former senior vice president of operations at the Y, said they were originally looking for flooring opportunities, and some experiences they had with other materials were not positive. That’s when he met a Kiefer USA representative and decided to take a look at the company.

Below, Linn details the Y’s experience with Kiefer USA, the company’s benefits and more.

From experience, what are the benefits of working with Kiefer USA?

Benefits include durable floors as well as first class service from your representative. Instructors love the floors we’ve put down as well as members. They held up great over time. And Ron DeMeyer, a Kiefer USA representative, has always called me back and been there for advice or questions. Overall, the experience, the feel of the floor on feet and knees, durability and cleanliness are all great benefits.

Have you been pleasantly surprised by working with Kiefer USA in any way?

I wasn’t aware of the vast amount of flooring that is available with them from high durable floor in weight rooms to softer flooring on Group X studios, as well as flooring for outdoor use on parks and fields.

What else can you tell other rec center professionals about the benefits of working with Kiefer USA?

All my experiences have been great and the customer service that I’ve experience with them is second to none.
