Aegis Therapies has worked with Dean Sbragia, the CEO of Medical Fitness Solutions and the founder of the LifeSpan health program, for approximately 20 years. Below, Brian Boekhout, the vice president of wellness services at Aegis Therapies, shares about his experience and the benefits of their partnership.

Why did you decide to partner with Medical Fitness Solutions? What problem were you looking to solve; or what solution were you looking to incorporate?

We were looking to find solutions for strength and function loss in the older adult and aging populations. We were looking for evidence-based solutions to impact the lives of the individuals in which we deliver physical, occupational and speech therapy. So we developed a program that we titled Freedom Through Functionality. It was a senior-based, high-intensity strength training program that was evidence-based and provided significant strength gains and outcomes for the individuals receiving rehabilitative services.

What are the benefits to your business as a result of this partnership?

It offered us a differentiated product as compared to our competition. It also created solutions to further the knowledge and expertise of our clinicians. At the time, it was a new model of care for the senior market.

What are the benefits to your members as a result of this partnership?

Our customers could promote a differentiated product from a sales perspective, not to mention a clinically sound offering that produced better outcomes for patients.

Have you been pleasantly surprised by working with Medical Fitness Solutions in any way?

They have always surpassed my expectations, but the biggest highlight in my eyes is their customer service and the effort they put forward in finding solutions and assistance if repairs are ever needed.

What else can you tell other rec center professionals about the benefits of working with Medical Fitness Solutions?

The organization is very entrenched in the industry, and a partnership with Medical Fitness Solutions has tentacles into many tertiary components of the industry. Truly an organization that focuses on customer service and it shows.
