In this facility tour, we’ll see the updated and state-of-the-art spaces at Evelyn Rubenstein JCC Houston.

The newly renovated JCC opened its doors to the public in February 2023. The J’s $50 million expansion and renovation project included a new 126,000-square-foot, three-story building that features new modern amenities with improved accessibility, security and flood mitigation.

Located on the south side of the current Milton Levit campus, the center features a top-of-the-line fitness center with locker rooms, culinary studio, family-centric aquatics complex, indoor and outdoor pools, splash pads and an indoor/outdoor cafe.

Enjoy!

Facility Highlights

The fitness center offers a variety of exercise equipment, such as treadmills, stationary bikes, weight machines and free weights, as well as group fitness classes and personal training services.

The equipment has something for everyone, thanks to suppliers like Technogym, Precor, Matrix Fitness and more. Group fitness classes range from a peaceful yoga to a high energy cardio class. The J also offers additional amenities such as saunas and swimming pools.

Senior fitness classes offered at the Evelyn Rubenstein JCC Houston include Stay Young Through Fitness, Hatha Yoga 60+ and Senior Water Fitness.

Stay Young Through Fitness is designed to develop and maintain movement patterns that mimic real life. Class participants have the opportunity to do a lot of reaching, stretching, strengthening and bending through all planes of motion.

Hatha Yoga 60+ lets participants explore and enjoy the wonderful benefits of yoga in a gentle way. This classes focuses on healing and strengthening  the body while also refreshing the mind through gentle stretching, conscious breathing and relaxation.

Senior Water Fitness is a moderate tempo, low-impact exercise program that improves aerobic fitness, range of motion and coordination. The resistance of the water provides support for the joints while adding intensity to the workout.

The Boniuk Family Indoor Tennis Center and Harris J. Weingarten Outdoor Tennis Complex

Fosters a flourishing community of players. The J offers a wide variety of adult and children’s activities and classes that help enhance your knowledge of tennis while growing member’s love for the sport.
