The national YMCA Reset Challenge is encouraging everyone to hit the reset button this year with a free, six-week challenge to help individuals reenergize and transform mind, body and spirit, starting February 1, 2021.

Only requiring a valid email and cell phone number, anyone – current member or not – can sign up for the free challenge by texting RESET to 844.889.6222. Participants will receive three communications a week filled with motivation, challenges, workouts and more from national experts.

The challenge goal is to get participants active for 30 minutes a day, 150 minutes per week, with activities centered around six weekly themes:

  • Reset
  • Refresh
  • Reconnect
  • Replay
  • Reinvest
  • Restore

While the Reset Challenge can be done completely virtually, some Ys are offering free access to all participants, such as the Cincinnati Y. Participants who join the challenge will also get free access to the Y one day each week during the six weeks, including access to the pool, working out and a variety of group exercise classes.

“Now, more than ever before we need to recharge and refocus,” said Jorge Perez, the president and CEO of the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati in a statement. “The COVID-19 pandemic has worn us down. It has isolated us in so many ways. This challenge provides an opportunity to get active and healthier by yourself or as a strong family. It’s the perfect time to take back our lives, reenergize, achieve goals, feel better and stronger.”

Learn more about the Reset Challenge and stay encouraged throughout the year with challenges, podcasts, video messages and more from The YMCA Strong Life.
