Gilda Gil has been named the new CEO of the YMCA of El Paso, beginning September 8, 2025.
Gil brings over two decades of nonprofit leadership experience and a deeply personal connection to the El Paso community. Her father first found shelter and opportunity at the YMCA after immigrating from Chihuahua, Mexico — a legacy that continues through her own children’s involvement in Y programs.
She transitions from her role as COO at the Paso Del Norte Children’s Development Center, where she was responsible for a $13 million operation, launched new service programs and spearheaded a $6 million capital campaign.
Her vision for the YMCA of El Paso includes expanding community awareness, listening deeply to local needs and building programs that reflect El Paso’s vibrant diversity.
A native of El Paso, Gil grew up in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua. She holds a master’s degree in Counseling, a bachelor’s in Social Psychology, and is fluent in English, Spanish, French and sign language.
