The 2027 Community Rec Leadership Summit will take place at the scenic Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa in Rancho Mirage, California.
Registration is now open for the fifth-annual Community Rec Leadership Summit. This time, the top movers and shakers in the industry from across the U.S. will gather February 22–24, 2027, at the Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa in Rancho Mirage, California.
This four-star resort was selected for the Summit as it sits in the heart of the Coachella Valley, surrounded by desert landscapes and the Santa Rosa Mountains — creating a stunning escape feeling for attendees.
For community rec leaders who are constantly in operational mode, this setting naturally supports:
- Strategic thinking vs. day-to-day firefighting.
- Stronger peer connection.
- Higher engagement in sessions and networking.
With a commitment to educating community recreation professionals, the Leadership Summit will unite 60 of the top industry leaders alongside limited sponsors for three days of valuable networking opportunities, peer-to-peer learning experiences and thought-provoking discussions. This event provides the ideal opportunity for leaders to return to their centers refreshed and with action items that will prove the investment was worth it and assist them in solving the day-to-day problems in their business.
The moderator for the 2027 Community Rec Leadership Summit will once again be Jorge Perez, the president and CEO of the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati.
Perez is a longtime supporter of Community Rec Magazine and a member of this publication’s advisory board. This will be his second time serving as moderator after doing so in 2026 and fourth year attending the Summit.

Perez has been leading the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati since 2017. Before then, he served as the SVP of Programs and Y Experience at the YMCA of the USA and was also the president and CEO of the YMCA of Southwest Illinois.
“I’m honored to return as moderator for the Community Rec Leadership Summit,” said Perez. “What I love about this gathering is that it mirrors what we do every day — we bring people together to accomplish something meaningful, build real relationships and remind each other that we belong in this work. The future of community recreation and well-being won’t be built in isolation. It’ll be built in gatherings like this one, by leaders like us. Change is fast, but we can rise to the challenge, together.””
His many years of experience in the community rec industry make him an ideal fit to lead the Summit’s roundtable education sessions.
