The 2023 Leadership Summit is Community Rec’s inaugural event, but did you know Community Rec Magazine is operated by Peake Media? Peake has over 20 years in the health and fitness industry, educating and inspiring health, fitness and wellness professionals across multiple brands. We’ve also been hosting leadership events for over eight years now.
With our experience hosting leadership events, we know learning and making life-long connections are best had in an enjoyable environment away from conference halls and emails. For two days, we encourage attendees to immerse themselves in true Peake Media style of moderator-led discussions, unique activities, private dinner parties and continuous networking. Attending a Leadership Summit means you’ll get to connect with each personally invited attendee and leave with valuable connections and resources.
Here’s a breakdown of what to expect at the 2023 Community Rec Leadership Summit:
Keith Vinson and Rodrigua Ross of the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas will be the 2023 Summit moderators. Results from survey responses and industry feedback along with their guidance will lead the following discussions:
During roundtable discussions, attendees and sponsors come together to think through a presented case study and three to four questions. After discussion, each group will report out to the rest of the group. Tables and seating arrangements are pre-determined to ensure different groups for each topic.
The Omni La Costa Resort & Spa was chosen as Community Rec’s inaugural event location to put attendees in thought-provoking surroundings where creativity flows. The Omni La Costa features an award-winning resort spa, a state-of-the-art fitness center, eight sparkling pools, two championship golf courses, 17 tennis courts, seven restaurants and dining options and multiple shopping options.
The following schedule is designed to help attendees unwind, re-charge and return to leadership positions ready to face the industry’s toughest challenges:
Day One of the Community Rec Leadership Summit will kick off with a welcome reception to meet fellow peers over relaxing cocktails, followed by a private dinner party and continued networking with an Iron Chef Dessert Competition. Attendees and sponsors will compete in teams to create the most outstanding dessert while aligning a restaurant name, marketing strategy and pitch. The winning team will collect their prized title of Iron Chef at the end.
Day Two will include a networking breakfast and lunch, feature three roundtables and two demo times. Demo times are a way for attendees to connect with all event sponsors by visiting their display areas in prescribed 5-minute sessions throughout the event. This allows attendees to gather contact information and set a time to meet up during the many open networking times at the event, if desired. Day Two will conclude with a group off-site tour of the Magdalena Ecke Family YMCA and a private dinner party back on the resort property.
Day Three will close with a last networking breakfast and lunch, two roundtable discussions, a final demo time and a celebration to all for attending the inaugural Community Rec Leadership Summit. Additionally, those in attendance will be the first to know the date and location of the 2024 Community Rec Leadership Summit and have first right of refusal to attend.
