The Marjorie & Lewis Katz Jewish Community Center (Katz JCC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Rabbi Jeremy R. Weisblatt as its new CEO. Weisblatt brings more than a decade of experience as a nonprofit executive, rabbi, and community builder, with a record of strengthening organizations, growing engagement and securing financial stability for the institutions he has served.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Rabbi Jeremy Weisblatt as the next CEO of the Katz JCC,” said Wendy Feldman, current JCC board president and member of the JCC’s CEO search committee, in a press release. “After interviewing several highly qualified candidates from across the country, the board unanimously selected Rabbi Jeremy for his vision, his deep commitment to Jewish community and his proven ability to lead organizations through growth and change. We’re confident that his leadership will strengthen the Katz JCC for generations to come.”

Weisblatt most recently served as director and Rabbi of Grant Hillel at the University of Delaware, where he developed and executed engagement strategies for more than 2,200 Jewish students, supervised and developed staff, and cultivated donor and philanthropic partnerships. Prior to that, he was Rabbi of Temple Ohav Shalom in Allison Park, Pennsylvania, where he grew the congregation by 50%, co-developed a new governance structure and helped lead fundraising efforts. His earlier roles include Assistant Rabbi at Temple Sholom in Chicago and Rabbi at Beth Shalom Temple in Fredericksburg, Virginia, where he co-led development campaigns and integrated IT, marketing and communications initiatives.

A doctoral candidate in Hebrew Letters at Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion, Weisblatt holds an Executive Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Duke University, as well as a Certificate in Financial Success for Nonprofits from Cornell University. He’s a Wexner Field Fellow and serves on multiple advisory boards, including the Newark Police Department Advisory Board and the University of Delaware Police Department Advisory Board. He also co-chairs the CCAR Convention Fundraising Committee and serves as a board member of the CCAR Response Committee.

“I’m honored and excited to join the Katz JCC as its new CEO,” said Weisblatt. “The Katz JCC is a cornerstone of Jewish life and community in Atlantic County, and I look forward to working with the board, staff, members and partners to build on its strong foundation. I’m excited to listen, learn and work side by side with this community to grow what’s already working, try new ideas and make sure the JCC continues to feel like home for everyone.”

Weisblatt succeeds Marg Rosenblatt and will begin his tenure this August. He resides in West Chester, Pennsylvania, with his family but is looking forward to calling Atlantic County his home.
