Benjamin Coffey announced his resignation as CEO of the Tri-State Family YMCA on Friday, October 10, 2025.

Coffey shared the following statement on social media to announce the news:

“It is with gratitude and excitement for new opportunities that I announce my resignation as Chief Executive Officer of the Tri-State Family YMCA.

Leading the YMCA has been one of the most rewarding chapters of my career. I am deeply thankful for the opportunity to work alongside such a passionate and dedicated team. Together, we have achieved remarkable milestones, including growing membership and programs, successfully launching two strategic plans, completing two capital campaigns, feeding kids and impacting families. Through challenges and triumphs, you have made this journey profoundly fulfilling.

I am especially grateful for the relationships I have built with colleagues, peers and community members. These connections have enriched my time at the Y, and I look forward to staying in touch and engaging in meaningful conversations in the years ahead.

This decision was not made lightly, as the YMCA holds a special place in my heart. However, I am eager to pursue new paths that align with my personal and professional aspirations.”

Coffey served as the CEO of the YMCA since June 2018, and was previously an executive director at the YMCA of Kansas City.
